‘Nightscenes’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Lead single “Acquainted with the night” and “Light -sky -stars” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This eight-song debut EP shows the promise that Michael Whalen has. Nightscenes is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
A fantastic track full of wonder.
Once you hear Light -sky -stars, you will listen to it over and over. Passages - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Faces is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. Love is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. The heart of midnight - A nice song. Lyrics of Towards the sunrise are precise and evocative.
