The sound in Try A Little Kindness is really warm and Glen Campbell’s signature voice is still very much present. If This Is Love is a great opener for Capitol Years 65/77 (cd1). True Grit is a marvelous song and it grows on you. Mornin’ Glory is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Got To Have Tenderness is the more seemingly obscure song on Capitol Years 65/77 (cd1) that bear up best to repeated listening. Where’s The Playground Susie - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. I listened to the opening track Galveston and liked it a lot. Reason To Believe is really a nice song to relax and listen too. Everytime I Itch I Wind Up Scratching You is simple, dignified and effective, Glen Campbell refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. I like the idea behind You’re Young And You’ll Forget. Wichita Lineman - My least favorite song on this album. So much energy, so exciting a sound.Without Her is almost impossible to review. It’s Over (2:02) - awsome. Just Another Man - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. Hey Little One is amazing song though, very addictive. They’ll Never Take Her Love Away From Me has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Put By The Time I Get To Phoenix into car stereo for your highway driving Charming song, great melody. Less Of Me is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Mary In The Morning as a highlight of Capitol Years 65/77 (cd1) contains a ton of perfect melodies. Guess I’m Dumb - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. Vocals of Glen Campbell in Universal Soldier really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm.
