While no new Mark Knopfler album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 2000 tour in Asia. It has been twelve years Mark Knopfler’ last studio CD, “A Shot At Glory” which won Array MTV Music Awards and was nominated for album of the year. This is the first studio album from Mark Knopfler since bad diagnosis in 2000. Unappreciated gift to Soundtrack
I have all of Mark Knopfler’s tracks and is probably the most his introspective effort.
Some call Hard Cases from A Shot At Glory as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Still going through A Shot At Glory and coming to appreciate He’s The Man more and more with every listen. Training is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. The New Laird is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. Don’t judge Say Too Much on the first listening. Four In A Row is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. I loved All That I Have In The World the first time I heard it. Sons Of Scotland - Quiet Theme has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Mark Knopfler’s strong vocals come to the fore. It’s Over is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Wild Mountain Thyme is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music.
