After debuting at No. 1 last week, The Oppressed’s album Totally Opressed falls to No. 2 with 382,000, a sales slide of 68%. This is the first studio album from The Oppressed since bad diagnosis in 1999. Totally Opressed isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Totally Opressed touched my soul like nothing else.
which is my favorite is a truly The Oppressed sounding song.
The Oppressed sings his heart out in Leave Me Alone. Violent Society is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Urban Soldiers is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. Chaos is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. Gun Law is so unique, as each one of the songs is. Riot is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. The Oppressed allows each song to breathe and flourish. Fight For Your Life is a exquisite sing-along. Ultra Violence defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Listening to Government Out you can hear that The Oppressed has still amazing chemistry with band members. When I listen to Run From You in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. In Skinhead Girl full palet of sound is used by The Oppressed to accentuate the presentation. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Don’t Look Back. I like the idea behind Magistrate. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. Victims is probably the highlight of the album. The Oppressed emotions are reflected through Bad Man. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Angels With Dirty Faces. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. You have to get essence of the Urban Soldiers’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. Run From You is a medium tempo tune. Ultra Violence as a highlight of Totally Opressed contains a ton of exquisite melodies.
