On Cut Chemist Meets Shortkut album, Cut Chemist have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. five years ago, Cut Chemist briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Tiny Bells”. This is one of the best Cd’s Cut Chemist has dropped to date. Cut Chemist Meets Shortkut is the best essence of Cut Chemist.
is astounding.
Tiny Bells has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Life As a Shorty Shouldn’t Be So Rough has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. open.close one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. No Mistakes In This Number Song Remix is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. The opening track Lesson 6 - The Lecture is very much like you would expect from other albums. Fats Comet’s Tackhead Beat is astounding song though, very addictive. Chuck D Counts Down to Armageddon is the albums biggest surprise. I hope to keep hearing Cut Chemist works for a long time to come. Ready on the Right is the albums biggest surprise. Cut Chemist must have run out of lyrics on the next track Solid Squealer. Biggety Balls - Monkey The Real Deal is so unique, as each one of the songs is. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Werd! - Okay, I just talked about depth. Moonbase Alpha is probably the highlight of the album. Still going through Cut Chemist Meets Shortkut and coming to appreciate Prince of the Beats more and more with every listen. Music of You are getting scratchy is gentle, never overbearing. Cak Ca Ba Ba is the song that really did it for me. Slow Fresh is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Charming song, great melody. you don’t stop has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Cut Chemist’s strong vocals come to the fore. I like Who Rocks the House because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. The song feels complete.
