Since completing 2000’s ‘Intro’, Brother Ali fulfilled their contract with Capitol Records and where under no obligation to release another album. It has been seven years Brother Ali’ last studio CD, “Rites Of Passage” which won Array Emmy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. This fifteen-song debut EP shows the promise that Brother Ali has. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
Brother Ali breathes new life into the music in .
In Whatever it becomes nowhere more obvious that Brother Ali has yet to define own style. Brother Ali has astounded me with this amazing track. Nice Double Em is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Brother Ali released so far. Eye Of The Storm is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. We Will Always B is a bit different from Brother Ali stereotypical stuff. so dearly is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. voices in my mind - A strong beat. they’re finished has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Brother Ali is hitting on all cylinders in tofuli. No Brother Ali song has come close to capturing my attention as ali boombaye did. you never know great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.Within the first few notes of three day journey it’s perfectly clear that Brother Ali is living this song. the session is a perfect song and it grows on you.
