It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Stanley Clarke energies, virtually a rebirth. On Mccoy Tyner With Stanley Clarke and Al Foster album, Stanley Clarke have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Stanley Clarke’s debut, ‘Mccoy Tyner With Stanley Clarke and Al Foster’, does not fit easily into one genre. Mccoy Tyner With Stanley Clarke and Al Foster constantly brilliant.
The opening track is very much like you would expect from other albums.
Once Upon A Time is Stanley Clarke’s best work in years. Never Let Me Go is the song that really did it for me. I Want To Tell You ‘Bout That one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Will You Still Be Mine - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. In The Tradition Of is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. The Night Has A Thousand Eyes is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. Voice and instruments in Carriba complement each other. Memories is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. There is gorgeous mix of music in I Want To Tell You ‘Bout That.
