Waiting isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Thursday had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. Mila Sparrow has compared writing for Thursday’s new album to that on ‘Waiting’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. This is my first Thursday Album and i must say i am blown away.
I listened to the opening track and liked it a lot.
This Side Of Brightness presents the astounding mix of instruments on Waiting. Ian Curtis as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. Opening track Introduction shows the best of Thursday. Streaks In The Sky is the song that really did it for me. In Transmission - This is a very lively song. The sound in Dying In New Brunswick is really warm and Thursday’s signature voice is still very much present. The Dotted Line is one of my favorite songs by Thursday. Where The Circle Ends sets the tone for the entire album.
