four years ago, DJ Quik briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Did Y’all Feel Dat”. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by DJ Quik. Lead single “Change Da Game” and “Did Y’all Feel Dat” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Lots of variety between tracks. My favorite is Did Y’all Feel Dat
is the first taste of the new album.
Did Y’all Feel Dat - A strong beat. If you are a DJ Quik fan, you will love We Came 2 Play. In Pitch In Ona Party you won’t find any flashy solos. I Don’t Wanna Party Wit U is really a nice song to relax and listen too. I love the melodic melody of Motek Records I (Interlude) and to this day it makes me feel good. Sexuality is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. I think How Come is the best song DJ Quik has ever done. U Ain’t Fresh! is so unique, as each one of the songs is. Roger’s Groove I just LOVE this mix! There is excellent mix of music in Motek Records II (Interlude). Quikker Said Than Dunn has a fun tempo. Nice and different song. Speak On It still maintains something of a specific flourish. I now have Do Whutcha Want as one of my personal favorites. What sets Well apart is DJ Quik’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. Some of the arrangements found on Balance and Options are surprisingly edgy. Do I Love Her is possibly the best song DJ Quik has come up. Album opener Tha Divorce Song is a bright, upbeat ditty. Balance and Options (Outro) is the more seemingly obscure song on Balance and Options that bear up best to repeated listening.
