six years ago, Combat Wounded Veteran briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Wothcing Stock Car Racing On My Wedding Night”. Since Combat Wounded Veteran last CD (I Know A Girl Who Develops Crime Scene Photos) on Savoy Records back in 1999, I have felt a massive void in my life. Self-described as Rock: Grindcore with lots of words, Combat Wounded Veteran comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. One of Combat Wounded Veteran’s best albums yet.
Only one song from I Know A Girl Who Develops Crime Scene Photos named really got me.
Opening track Wothcing Stock Car Racing On My Wedding Night shows the best of Combat Wounded Veteran. Propaganda Films Shot With A Sitcom Script - arguably the best track on I Know A Girl Who Develops Crime Scene Photos album. When listening to Assassination Attemp. Part II., it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. First time I heard I Talk, You Listen was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.You’ll Never Be Where I Am, Ever In Your Life one of the best in my collection. Fuck The Ghouls is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Mercury Streams, The Proliferation Of Foreign Matter is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. One Arm Left is possibly the best song Combat Wounded Veteran has come up. I believe Folden Space - Lead Poisoning and Distortion is one of the most marvelous, heartfelt songs ever written. You Win, I’m Stupid is so unique, as each one of the songs is. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Appendix^ Proportion Zero. I have all of Combat Wounded Veteran’s tracks and Operation: Head Superimposed is probably the most his introspective effort. You Make Statemates Conserning Things That You Know Nothing About is a striking and quite long song. Christ, My Leg Is Sore (1:21) a good melody. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. One Third Of The Perfect Man stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. This is one hell of a track. The song The Party Asteroid Apocalypse ending is my favorite… so catchy!
