After debuting at No. 1 last week, Green Carnation’s album Journey To The End Of The Night falls to No. 2 with 257,000, a sales slide of 95%. I am not a real Avantgarde music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Journey To The End Of The Night’ really is amazing. Lead single “Falling Into Darkness” and “In The Realm Of The Midnight Sun” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. In The Realm Of The Midnight Sun - Okay, I just talked about depth. My Dark Reflections Of Life And Death is a very catchy tune. I like the idea behind Under Eternal Stars. Journey To The End Of The Night (Part I) rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. Album opener Echoes Of Despair (Part II) is a bright, upbeat ditty. End Of Journey (Part III) to me is the best you can get from Green Carnation. Shattered (IV) is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done.
