This is the first studio album from Trilok Gurtu since bad diagnosis in 2000. For older fans The Beat Of Love will put a massive smile accross your face. Trilok Gurtu was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Trilok Gurtu and The Beat Of Love together. Smart music for smart people.

A Friend - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. I listened to the opening track Have We Lost Our Dream? and liked it a lot. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Passing By is nothing but pure genius. Jhulela! is one of the best records ever. The opening track Ingoma is very much like you would expect from other albums. Tuhe is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Ola Bombay one is one of the better boring ones. This is probably my favorite song on the album. Peace Of The Five Elements is the more seemingly obscure song on The Beat Of Love that bear up best to repeated listening.
