Abbey Lincoln had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. While no new Abbey Lincoln album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 2000 tour in South America. Since completing 2000’s ‘When The Lights Go On Again’, Abbey Lincoln fulfilled their contract with Mute Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Enjoy the show.
is the albums biggest surprise.
Blackberry Blossoms is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Somos Novios is the albums biggest surprise. You have to get essence of the A Heart Is Not A Toy’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. I Could Write It For A Song is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. I’m Not Supposed To Know is the first taste of the new album. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Windmills Of Your Mind is my favorite song on Over the Years. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. What Will Tomorrow Bring is possibly the best song Abbey Lincoln has come up. Tender As A Rose is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations.
