After debuting at No. 1 last week, Chekov’s album Turnable Soul Kicks falls to No. 2 with 247,000, a sales slide of 81%. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Chekov energies, virtually a rebirth. It has been eight years Chekov’ last studio CD, “Turnable Soul Kicks” which won Array Grammy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. To me Chekov is the best band ever.
I find myself hearing bits of here and there throughout my waking hours.
In this song fans will recognize the unique vocals of Chekov. Turntable Soul Kicks is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Turnable Soul Kicks have ended. After few listenings I started to like Nr. 9 more and more. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. All of songs on Turnable Soul Kicks and have something to say letting alone Untitled. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Turnable Soul Kicks. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. A Piece Of The Action is a good listen every once in a while. Let’s Take A Trip is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Afro Boogie - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. You can find feelings on this piece of art. Take It Back To Church catches attention immediately, Turnable Soul Kicks couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Dangger Of The Mind. Only one song from Turnable Soul Kicks named Blow You Cool (Remix) really got me. Take It Back To Church (Remix) actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Chekov’s face. So much energy, so exciting a sound.
