Elliott Smith was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Elliott Smith and Figure 8 together. While no new Elliott Smith album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 2000 tour in Asia. There is no doubt that Elliott Smith has talent. Figure 8 is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
- Elliott Smith first major hit.
Somebody That I Used To Know is another favourite of mine. A unique and uplifting song. Music in Everything Reminds Me Of Her is perfect as in all tracks of Figure 8. Everything Means Nothing To Me (2:24) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! This track is a great song that still never gets old. In the Lost and Found (Honky Bach) - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. Stupidity Tries without a doubt is the standout song of Figure 8. Simple and heartfelt closing track Easy Way Out closes Figure 8 on a high note. Wouldn’t Mama Be Proud? is one of the best records ever. You have to get essence of the Color Bars’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. Happiness is a bit of a show-tune. A great put together song. If you are a Elliott Smith fan, you will love I Better Be Quiet Now. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. Bye - For me, this is the best of the album.
