‘Night On Earth’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Since Rialto last CD (Night On Earth) on Savoy Records back in 2000, I have felt a massive void in my life. Mila Sparrow has compared writing for Rialto’s new album to that on ‘Night On Earth’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Great Blues right here!
So much energy, so exciting a sound.
Idiot Twin is one of the coolest songs Rialto has ever recorded. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Night On Earth. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. Catherine’s Wheel is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. In Drive the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. I listened to the opening track Monday Morning 5:19 (Acoustic Version) and liked it a lot. Failing In Love is the more seemingly obscure song on Night On Earth that bear up best to repeated listening. This track is clearly meant to showcase Rialto’s vocal abilities. Rialto has astounded me with this amazing track. Some call Russian Doll from Night On Earth as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen.
