While no new Bob Dylan album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 2000 tour in Africa. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Bob Dylan. Lead single “Intro” and “Hallelujah, I’m Ready To Go” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Overall, I would highly recommend Horsens Theatre (Live) CD.
is one of the more up-tempo songs on Horsens Theatre (Live).
Hallelujah, I’m Ready To Go (3:00) a good melody. My Back Pages pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Masters Of War is a marvelous song and it grows on you. Excellent vocals and musical performances. In A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall it becomes nowhere more obvious that Bob Dylan has yet to define own style. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. The Lonesome Death Of Hattie Carroll very upbeat. Gotta Serve Somebody is the song that really did it for me. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. A great put together song. Tryin’ To Get To Heaven is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Music of To Be Alone With You is gentle, never overbearing. So much energy, so exciting a sound.Like A Rolling Stone is Bob Dylan’s best work in years. Forever Young is the albums biggest surprise. Maggie’s Farm is a bit different from Bob Dylan stereotypical stuff. Although It Ain’t Me, Babe is very melodic it is far from sad. Rainy Day Women #12 and #35 is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. Musically Blowing In The Wind is superior to other tracks in Horsens Theatre (Live). Mama, You’ve Been On My Mind is probably the most interesting track on Horsens Theatre (Live). Shelter From The Storm is another favourite of mine. Down Along The Cove can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Bob Dylan is all about. When listening to Things Have Changed, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable.
