Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Slim Dusty on ‘Looking Forward Looking Back’. On Looking Forward Looking Back album, Slim Dusty have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. After seeing Looking Forward Looking Back, I had to have a good Slim Dusty cd. Overall, I would highly recommend Looking Forward Looking Back CD.

Never Was At All - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. There’s A Rainbow Over The Rock is the most memorable and gorgeous. Matilda No More is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. Some call The Bloke Who Serves The Beer from Looking Forward Looking Back as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Paddy William is really the reason why I recommend buying Looking Forward Looking Back. Clean Up Our Own Backyard is a great opener for Looking Forward Looking Back. One listen to the sheer beauty of Old Time Country Songs was all I needed. A Bad Day’s Fishing is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Looking Forward Looking Back. Good Heavens Above is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. Keela Valley Coals is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day.
