For older fans Master of Shakuhachi will put a massive smile accross your face. It has been two years Tajima Tadashi’ last studio CD, “Master of Shakuhachi” which won Array Academy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Tajima Tadashi was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Tajima Tadashi and Master of Shakuhachi together. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like Master of Shakuhachi.
Music of is gentle, never overbearing.
I came to like Shika no Tone. The sound of Shingetsu Cho is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Once you hear San’An, you will listen to it over and over. Get Master of Shakuhachi and turn on Tsuru no Sugomori if you are going to sip your wine late at night. Yamagoe is the exquisite blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Ukigumo is my favorite song on Master of Shakuhachi. Put Koku into car stereo for your highway driving
