Now signed to SoulFly’s Capitol Records, the title track from second album “Primitive” leads SoulFly’s back-to-school campaign. This disc has all of the essential SoulFly classics. Primitive isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Enjoy the show.
It’s so catchy, it’s amazing.
This track is clearly meant to showcase SoulFly’s vocal abilities. I love the melodic melody of Bring It and to this day it makes me feel good. Although Jumpdafuckup (Feat. Corey Taylor #8) is very melodic it is far from sad. Mulambo (Feat. The Mulambo Tribe) is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. Within the first few notes of Son Song (Feat. Sean Lennon) it’s perfectly clear that SoulFly is living this song. Boom is a very catchy tune. I was truly moved when I heard Terrorist (Feat. Tom Araya). The Prophet is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Soulfly Ii is a fine track on any terms. In Memory Of… (Feat. Cutthroat Logic) gives taste of what makes SoulFly special as a musician. Fly High (Feat. Asha Rabouin) was the first single release from the album Primitive. I like Eye For An Eye (Live) because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Tribe (Live) is one of the coolest songs SoulFly has ever recorded. Soulfire is probably the most interesting track on Primitive. Still going through Primitive and coming to appreciate Soulfly (Universal Spirit Mix) more and more with every listen.
