There were many famous songs of Mos Def and Talib Kweli available. Since completing 2000’s ‘Intro’, Mos Def and Talib Kweli fulfilled their contract with Sparrow Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Music and lyrics of Yo yeah creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Voice and instruments in Respiration complement each other. Thieves in the night (5:14) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Twice inna lifetime is probably the most interesting track on Black Star. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Astronomy (8th light) is my favorite song on Black Star. I came to like Definition. After few listenings I started to like RE: Definition more and more. Children’s story (3:34) - awsome. Brown skin lady is a perfect, simple song by Mos Def and Talib Kweli at the top of his game. B boys will b boys stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. This track is clearly meant to showcase Mos Def and Talib Kweli’s vocal abilities. Mos Def and Talib Kweli is one of artists that allow his songs like Hater players to stand on their own and be heard.
