Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Download on ‘Carrier Tone’. After seeing Carrier Tone, I had to have a good Download cd. Download’s debut, ‘Effector’, does not fit easily into one genre. Last Hot Album by Download
Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right.
What sets Muscaria apart is Download’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. In Vagator it becomes nowhere more obvious that Download has yet to define own style. Voice and instruments in Ego Dissolve complement each other. The Guide is the song that really did it for me. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Download. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. Simple and heartfelt closing track Affirmed closes Effector on a high note.
