This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by The Residents. Dot Com isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Since The Residents last CD (Dot Com) on Blue Note Records back in 2000, I have felt a massive void in my life. If you want to hear real Pop, get this record now!
- is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of The Residents.
Nineteen-Ninety-Nine (1999) - For me, this is the best of the album. Ninth Rain (2000) has a fun tempo. Wanda (1995) is a song to enjoy for years to come. Conceiving Ada Titles (1996) is beautiful, yet underrated track. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. This is probably my favorite song on the album. Don’t judge Eskimo Opera (1992) on the first listening. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly. I Hear ya got Religion (1969) rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. Santa Dog for Gamelan Orchestra (2000) is astounding. Santa Dog 2nd Millennium (1999) [Refused Version] is probably the most interesting track on Dot Com.
