Self-described as Rock with lots of words, Over The Rhine comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Over The Rhine had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Over The Rhine on ‘Latter Days’. This album is in perfect progression from Over The Rhine!
Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right.
I listened to the opening track All I Need Is Everything and liked it a lot. This song is dynamic and dramatic. This song may be the most meaningful. Although Faithfully Dangerous is very melodic it is far from sad. Still going through Good Dog Bad Dog and coming to appreciate The Seahorse more and more with every listen. Everyman’s Daughter is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. Within the first few notes of Poughkeepsie it’s perfectly clear that Over The Rhine is living this song. Over The Rhine offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. Over The Rhine allows each song to breathe and flourish. It’s such an underrated song.
