This eleven-song debut EP shows the promise that Cher has. Not Com.Mercial carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Cher’s debut, ‘Not Com.Mercial’, does not fit easily into one genre. I wish that “Not Com.Mercial” album was instrumental.
Vocals of Cher in really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm.
Sisters of Mercy is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Not Com.Mercial. Running is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. After about the third Born with the hunger listen through, I began to believe this song is Cher’s essence. The Fall is a great opener for Not Com.Mercial. With or Without You is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. Fit To Fly is beautiful, yet underrated track. In Disaster Cake full palet of sound is used by Cher to accentuate the presentation. In Our Lady of San Francisco Cher spins a tale you want to hear to the end. Classified 1a is another favourite of mine.
