It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Inca Son energies, virtually a rebirth. ‘Canto A La Libertad’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. There were many famous songs of Inca Son available. I wish that “Canto A La Libertad” album was instrumental.
I find myself hearing bits of here and there throughout my waking hours.
I like to sing along with Virgenes del Sol, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. El abuelito is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Viaje A La Montana - My least favorite song on this album. Rio Amazonas is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. I can’t stop humming along La despedida. Matices as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time. El Serranito is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Some of the arrangements found on Canto A La Libertad are surprisingly edgy.
