It has been nine years Gal Costa’ last studio CD, “Sempre Best Of” which won Array MTV Music Awards and was nominated for album of the year. IF YOU LIKE ALL Gal Costa’S SONG GO FOR IT! Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Gal Costa on ‘Como 2 e 2′. Overall, I would highly recommend Sempre Best Of CD.
Voice and instruments in complement each other.
Only one song from Sempre Best Of named Antonico really got me. Gal Costa is one of artists that allow his songs like Falsa Baiana to stand on their own and be heard. Acontece - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. India stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Don’t judge Detalhes on the first listening. P luxo se is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Faltando um Pedazo is a amazing, simple song by Gal Costa at the top of his game. De amor eu morrerei is a gorgeous song and it grows on you. Such hits like Modinha para Gabriela will leave you hooked. In Na Baixa do Sapateiro Gal Costa spins a tale you want to hear to the end. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. Divino, Maravilhoso - My least favorite song on this album.
