This is one of the best Cd’s Horslips has dropped to date. eleven years ago, Horslips briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “March Into Trouble”. Self-described as Rock with lots of words, Horslips comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. The Book of Invasions is not something you should pass up.
Musically is superior to other tracks in The Book of Invasions.
March Into Trouble has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. In Trouble (With A Capital T) you won’t find any flashy solos. The Power And The Glory - Horslips first major hit. The Rocks Remain still maintains something of a specific flourish. After few listenings I started to like Dusk more and more. Sword of Light is really a nice song to relax and listen too. I hope to keep hearing Horslips works for a long time to come. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. Fantasia (My Lagan Love) is perfect. King Of Morning Queen Of Day is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Horslips released so far. Sideways To The Sun was the first single release from the album The Book of Invasions. Such hits like Drive The Cold Winter Away will leave you hooked. Ride To Hell - A catchy, upbeat tune.
