There is no doubt that Azymuth has talent. While no new Azymuth album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1999 tour in Australia. After seeing The Prisoner, I had to have a good Azymuth cd. Flame/Spectrum is the best essence of Azymuth.
This track is nearly perfect if not perfect.
Voice and instruments in Tamal Vista Boulevard complement each other. Rapa Poeira is one of these floating songs. The Textile Factory (Fabrica De Tecidos) - a classic song. Flame (O Amor E Chama) is probably the most interesting track on Flame/Spectrum. I now have Right On as one of my personal favorites. This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time. Overall a nice softer song. Universal Prisoner - arguably the best track on Flame/Spectrum album. Music in Candomble is marvelous as in all tracks of Flame/Spectrum. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. The Island (Comecar De Novo) is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. In Areias Azymuth is at his best. Turma Do Samba has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Azymuth’s strong vocals come to the fore.
