Since completing 1999’s ‘Silent Night’, Steve McDonald and Hollie Smith fulfilled their contract with Sparrow Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Steve McDonald and Hollie Smith on ‘Silent Night’. After seeing Silent Night, I had to have a good Steve McDonald and Hollie Smith cd. This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
I like the agression and power of .
Christmas Time Again is the most memorable and astounding. Angels We Have Heard On High is just simply stunning. Good King Wenceslaus is a astounding, simple song by Steve McDonald and Hollie Smith at the top of his game. This is probably my favorite song on the album. Happy Christmas is pretty funky and mellow. Although Oh Holy Night is very melodic it is far from sad. Amazing Grace is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. One listen to the sheer beauty of O Come,All Ye Faithful was all I needed. I came to like The First Noel. Deck The Halls marked the continuation of Steve McDonald and Hollie Smith in style evolution. You have to get essence of the Auld Lang Syne’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece.
